How Hot Will It Get ??

In looking at the data so far it seems that according to what has happened in the past, Co2 levels do not precede climate warming but follow it by some 800 years. We also know the vast majourity of Co2 in the atmospere is produced naturally with mans contribution being tiny in proportion. CO2 levels at this point however, appear to be uniquely high. Will they truly result in a deadly heating of the earth resulting in the widespread extinction of plant and animal life or will we be able to somehow intervene and stop the predicted doomsday scenario of science if they don't stop rising? Time will tell.
Perhaps we can look into the future by other means than science to see what actually does happen before it, well, does !!. There is really only one place to look to do that. The Bible .
It is the only book on the planet whose predictions have come true to a degree impossible on a pure chance basis.
Okay, what does the Bible predict about the future of the earth, specifically in regards to the grave concern of our day ..planetary over heating ?
Well Revelation does mention these prophecies for the future relative to heat.
Rev 8:7
A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
Rev 16:8-14
The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire. 9 They were seared by the intense heat .....
12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.
According to Revelation heat..huge heat, is indeed in store for planet earth. Actually a heat that goes even beyond these descriptions is mentioned. 2 Peter 3:12-13 describes that the "heavens " will be destroyed by fire .. and the elements will melt in the heat. "
And what of the fate of the earth ? 2 Peter 3:13 promises there will emerge out of the chaos
"...a new heaven and a new earth "
Science has described the history of earth as having had more than one cataclysmic, planet altering event, in the past. The difference is the events listed as coming to earth next by the Bible, will result in a cataclysm the earth has not experienced since its formation.
Does that mean fatalistically we sit around and "wait for the end" to come if you believe the Bible? I do not think so. This earth is not described there as a chance happening in a chance universe. This is a world that the Bible indicates clearly was designed; made for us and all living things to inhabit, a gift we should value and care for if we care at all for the One who made it.
